My blown 64 Impala I am in the process of completing my latest project. A 1964 Impala convertible ,with a supercharged 355 sbc pushing 595 HP,I also upgraded the transmission to a 700R4 completely built for the power. I upgraded to 4 wheel disc brakes and custom low rider drive shaft. I am in the processes of adding 2 nitrogen tanks to the air ride system and using the compressor as a backup. I run my air setup around 250 PSI on a daily and I have pushed it to 400 PSI for play time, once you run nitrogen is hard to wait for compressors, the only time I run my compressors is to go get more nitrogen. I say I use them like once every 4 or 5 months. What do you pay to refill you bottle? I have a big ass bottle, it barely fits in the trunk and I pay $18.57 to have it filled.

Re: My blown 64 Impala Tip: Your wasting allot of air by having the front fill valves in the trunk. Why fill and drain the line between the trunk and bag if you dont need to. Unless you dont want the valves under the hood.

Re: My blown 64 Impala I hooked it up the way the directions said too. What do you recommend ? And whats the best way to plumb it. What difference will it make to have the valves under the hood and where do you mount them? There pretty heavy as you know..also brackets .

Re: My blown 64 Impala I dont have the bottles in yet,I am trying to figure out how to install them. I have 2 tanks with no regulators . They are smaller ones about 48 inches from base to neck. I have a 20 gallon fuel cell in the truck so space is tight. What do you use for a regulator ? The tanks are used scuba tanks a friend gave me..the same size as the large NOS tanks.

Re: My blown 64 Impala In Slam's 63 we mounted them to the fender. the difference will be less air wasted and a faster raise. If you leave them in the rear you have to fill the line between the valve and the bags just to drain it back out when you drop the car. Not sure what valves you have but I bought some "L" valve brackets and welded them to the angled bars from my front end to the fender. On Slam's he just got some circle clanps like what you would use to mount a pipe to a wall. Sorry i dont have a camera but slam may be able to get you some pics. As for the tanks, do you know what pressure they will hold? Might want to be sure they can fill them with nitrogen first. I would take the bottle down to a welding supply and see first if they will be able to fill them with nitrogen and if so next ? would be what regulator do they have that will work for what you need. If you just get a nitrogen bottle i would say that would be easier because you just get the bottle and a regulator that will do at least 400 PSI and some fittings. Another good thing about the regular nitro bottle is that when its empty you just do a swap at they store and get a fresh bottle. with the scuba tank you will actually have to have someone fill it then but it back in the car. Heard of scuba tanks being used but not sure what they were filled with.

Re: My blown 64 Impala Also dont forget to put a ball valve off the regulator to close the line when you change tanks. If you dont then you will have to empty the tank when you swap and that just wastes more air.

Re: My blown 64 Impala I bought the FBSS kit from VT Kustoms for a 64 Impala ,which comes with the GC Xtreme 350 valves, Viair 325 air compressor ,5 gal 4 port tank rated at 200 PSI ,Slam Specialties RE bags.So with the 4 port tank ,I have 2 ports used for the front and rear setup and 1 for the air pump and the other for the air pressure check valve. Whats the best way to run the 2 lines to the front ,like in slams 63? Use a T fitting where the check valve goes?
