Finally found a new/used motor to install.... It was a fairly clean original 283 from the 60's. Very pleased with it and for 350 dollars how can you complain? I tried to install it by myself but didnt have enough hands, so my brother Scott came over and we had it in the car in 2 1/2 hours...everything radiator and all...
Well then the problems came.... well I decided to change the carb to the new one I had bought...well wouldnt you know it one of the bolts broke off in the intake... tried it all, welding a nut to it...NOPE.....vice grips...BIGGER NOPE...drilling....BIGGEST NO WAY...
So I had to change the intake manifold out with the old one....ok got all that done...new gaskets and shit...all back together......
Problem #2: Im ready to fire....NOPE.....plenty of gas....NO SPARK....now this was annoying....TDC yep.....rotor button in right place...SURE IS....nothing...(
thanks to slammed63chevy for the help on TDC )
Well after research online I finally found out how to check the coil...mine was bad..I THINK... So I purchased a new one....put it on and NOPE...nothing..
Now the WTF where coming out....shit the POINTS.....adjusted them out and BAM...fired right up......WWWOOOOOHHOOOOOO

<------ME that day.
The brakes still need a good bleeding but I couldnt resist today, I had to drive it....car looks like shit, but what a feeling driving it down the road....with NO EXHAUST.......
