I think you recently you conncected the headlights and stuff. I'd check those. My 64 did the drain thing on the tail lights after I had the lights pulled out when it was being painted. I had one touching inside the trunk lid after I put everything back together. Might be where I'd look. I've had power drains from car stereos too. mrmeii might be able to help you I'm sure he knows his electrical biznass.

it is just a bad ground somewhere, engine to the frame most likely. sounds like the alt is puttin out correct, all the regulator does is just that if to much voltage is being put out then it corrects it to low then it bumps it up, juiced has the right idea though, ive heard that before. just check check and recheck grounds d.
