Soldiers in Iraq?

Hey guys I gotta question for yall. I was driving home from work late late last night and was listening to the radio. There was a commercail on the radio about supporting our troops and how the small things can make a big difference over there. They said things like a deck of cards or a magazine, things from home can make a day over there. I want to get a package together of a lowrider mag and maybe a deck of cards or something and send over there. But I don't know anyone over there to send it to, so I was hoping one of you guys knows someone serving in Iraq who would like a small package. So let me know if that sounds like a good idea, and if you have any suggestions as to who to send it to would be apprecaited. I feel it's the very least I could do. And I'm not even sure how to send it. Can it go through the post office? Are there restrictions as to what the can get in the mail? so let me know if you know someone that would be great! What do you guys think??

Re: Soldiers in Iraq?

I have been reading through that site Dennis and it's amazing what we have here. Even the small thing like socks and soap are so valuable. I would encourage all UR members to pick someone on the list and send them something. Even a letter helps they say nad it's less than a buck to send. I sent 4 magazines and 2 DVD's in a flat rate envelope and it cost my 5 bucks. It was 5 bucks well spent. i hope all of us can show them our appreciation for kicking Iraq in the ass for us. It was very touching to read their messages. Thanks Dennis.

Re: Soldiers in Iraq?

Let me tell you from experience... Small care packages really make a BIG difference... socks, magazines, underware, DVD's, music... oh, don't forget the baby wipes!!! Sometimes showers aren't available... sometimes so tired that skipping a shower and going straight to bed sounds better... I did register with anysoldier.com... I did get many responces... I might be going back soon...

Re: Soldiers in Iraq?

also coming from expierence over in iraq, the thing that meant the most to me was probably baby wipes. shit there were more times then i could count when the water convoy got delayed for days and noone could take a shower and them wipes did the trick. also got to use the axe, that right there is shower in a can. my wife sent me every issue of orales lowrider magazine cause thats what i grew up with, it means alot guys, just the littlest thing can make every second better. there are countless organizations who you could send stuff too. send all you can socks, underwear, fruit rollups, soup( sometimes you dont have a luxery of eating out on patrol for 18 hours). foot powder, chapstick anything. even though i been out the army for 2 months i still send stuff to my soldiers deployed, if anyone wants i can give you some addresses. shit when i got hurt i was reading an old ass mini truckin magazine in the hospital in germany waiting to come back home to hook my whip up, thats all i wanted to do
