laugh now cry later question????

I've seen this around for years and years and is assocaited with Lowriders. I was behind a guy in line at lunch that had it on his lowrider shirt. Can some one explain it to me? I'm not sure what it signifies I guess. I know it's laugh now and cry later or smile now I've heard too. What does it have to do with lowriders and why the masks? Any ideas????

They are also associated with "gang life" in referance to don’t worry about what you do now and pay for your deeds later. I think over all its just to be happy now and worry about shit later…… just cruise with it.
I have always known it as "smile now, cry later"

it is a part of gang life, but also a part of anyone who lives a certain lifestyle on the edge, no worries. i know is as laugh now, cry later, do your dirt whatever now but in the end you will pay for it. and the masks come from the theatre scene they stand for tragedy and comedy. i've seen some tight tats.

it is a gang thing. but what it means is hide your pain now be a fuckin chingon gangster,then later when you die you can cry cuz you will be repenting all the bad shit you did. i say fuck now fuck later have a good time and dont look back.
