Prayers for my very sick brother.
My brother is going in for surgery next week. He has had Ulcerative Colitis for three years. It is like Crones disease if you know what that is. You basically shit yourself to death. It is horrid. He is only 23 and he goes to work at an auto body shop everyday most of the time sick as hell. He is 6'2 and weighs about 125 pounds and when he feel a little better maybe 145. The disease has attacked his large intestine and colon. He tried everything from steriods to injections. He goes in next week on mothers day weekend to have his large intestine and colon removed. It is the last resort for him and the condition can turn to colon cancer if they don't get it out. Have you or any one you know ever been sick like this? We are hoping for the best at least he won't have to go to the bathroom 30 or 40 times a day. When it's bad it can be like 8 times in a half hour. He wears baggy clothes all the time so people can't see how sick he is. The guys at his work were shocked when he told them he was having this done, he never mentioned it to anyone and never complained. The strongest person I've ever met. My family is very worried for him, so guys can you have some prayers for him? We need all the help we can get right now.

Hope your brother gets better. Is there anything he can keep down? THey say cabbage juice (yes sounds strange I know) can settle any stomach. And I hoe the doctors checked his thyroid, too. Anyhow am sending prayers that he will be OK soon. All the best

Re: Prayers for my very sick brother.
Harley you should get that checked for Ulcerative Colitis it sounds like more than IBS man. My bro has been days in the bathroom. The Doc says he's got a killer 6 pack from all the stomache pain and holding it it and stuff. My bro bleeds. I hope Harley for your sake you don't end up with it. GOD HAVE MERCY ON ANYONE WITH STOMACHE PROBLEMS. It is a horrid way to live life.

Re: Prayers for my very sick brother.
He is doing pretty good today. He has had his large intestine removed and his colon. He know has a bag and is sore as hell from having all his insides pulled out. His recovery is slow but is overall doing pretty good. He had a drainage bulb fromn the surgery, a cathader, NG nose tube down his throat, IV's, and the colostomy bag, and oxygen. What a mess! I haven't been awake that long in all my life. He had to have medicine every 10 to 15 minutes for the last 4 days 24 hours a day. My family is just ragged from being up for days straight. Hopefully it's the begining of the end. Thanks for your prayers guys. Yesterday he blacked out, and turned green as grass and his lips went blue, I thought he was going to stroke out, but we got the nurse and on more oxygen and an IV injection to bring his heart rate up. I'm glad My sister in law is a nurse and I've worked in medical for 8 years, but it was really scary when it is one so close to home. Thanks everyone.
