Insurance question

My fiance car got backed into the other day while she was in Flordia . The woman gave her an insurance card for State Farm insurance and when we called we were told the woman no longer had insurance with them. Is insurance mandatory in Flordia? Anybody have any idea what we could do, besides claim it on her insurace. She is afraid they are going to drop her insurance if she does claim it on hers.

I would try contacting the state police and telling them that the lady in question gave you a false Insurance card and you would like an officer to go with you to her house!!

sorry to hear that, my wife got hit from someone who didnt have insurance and its too easy. go to the local police or state patrol and file a report then report the false insurance coverage, they have to send an officer to to persons house and arrest them if there is cause or serve them to go to court. in your case its open and shut. yo insurance is required everywhere be it full coverage or liability handle your buisness thats messed up.

She filed a complaint with flordia police yesterday and they said they were going to look into it. Still looks like we are going to have to claim it on our insurance to get fixed. Just hope they dont raise the rates or drop her.
