Lowriding came from the Barrios of East Los and up North and thru out the Southwest. Lowriders of today that are out on the streets will someday learn what it is to be a true lowrider at heart and not just some fade that came your way because you decided to buy a magazine at the corner market. My family did not learn about lowriding from some pinche magazine. Remeber this the magazine is here today because of us Chicanos from back in the days. Lowriding is in my blood as well as it is for my children and why because of my parents. They are both lowriders from way back in the 40's and clear thru today. They are now both in their 60's and 70's now. My parents lowride in a dropped chevy daily and not because of some magazine they bought at the corner store. Lowriding is generations old it goes back to cruzing your horse in the plaza's thru out Aztlan and picking up chavalas (young ladies) because you would get all dressed up on a Saturday night and head out for the local Plaza's. On the back of your well groomed horse. History Chicano style for those that dont know about our culture and the true story about lowriding.

and my father had a droped, choped and channeled merc in the 50's. he also owned impalas........ and nope no magazines about lowriders were around.. he, like me is as white as they come....... but i guess he wasnt a lowrider....... just a white guy following in the steps of......

hummmmmmmmm........ you say this, i say that........
with no mass media to tell everybody that they were essentially doing the same thing, there will be many stories. You promote your story and culture and i will do the same with mine. I know in america it is bad to be white and be proud of your culture and heritage. But i am, and i will be.... so, you go do the same...... but dont force your culture down my throat, if you arent going to look at mine and respect it the same way that you want me to respect your........ you tell your stories to the lil spanish kids, and ill tell mine to the lil white kids, cool? |

I am talking in English not spanish. The stories are not anything about spanish (spanish is what we speak not live)its about Chicanos and our way of life and our Culture and lowriding is a part of it. You say your culture. What is your culture? Then live it and quit trying to live ours. Get it right. Lowriding is hip for you newbees because of (MTV & BET) and a way of life for "Raza." We are no longer the minority. We are the majority. You dont see "Raza" rushing out to to join Nascar or buying any of your cultures magazines (square dancing mag.) Remember what culture those magazines are built upon that you buy every month.

Majority.......... Major asshole maybe..... why are you being raciest and tellin me im into square dancing, calling me out like you know me and wha to do? Did i ask you about your worn out Cowboy boots, and cowboy hat, with the button up shirt with the ribbions on it? How are the cotton fields these days......?
