the death of lowriding?

I was thinking about this at he car show last week and wanted to see what yall think. What if....what if lowriding were to become a thing of the past? waht would be the cause of it's death. I've noticed the change recently. Could it be one of the items from the poll? Maybe something else? I've noticed that alot of us are in the mid 20's and 30 somethings, based on the posts of happy birthdays. What will it be like when we are all the 60 somethings? Will we be looked at like those guys at the hot rod shows? They had the muscle cars in high school nad it seemed like when we were in the 90's high school students the low low was the way to go. We saw snoop, cube and dre, roll'in the lows. In movies like Boys int he hood, and friday. Now everyone has the black on black cars, donks, big money, etc. Will lowriders become out dated or die?

Re: the death of lowriding?

gas prices to expensive, economy (this would kill hotroding before lowriding)

lack of interest in young people. wanting street racers, donks, etc instead (If you are born into lowriding the the young will keep it a live)

unable to find the classic cars. (what's a classic now 50's -70's what will be a classic in 20 years)

prices too expensive to build a lowrider (I can't see this killing lowriding may change some of the things people do to the cars)

laws against older cars, ethanol. community restrictions (the people will not let this happen, they would have to make the laws for hotrods, classic, lowrider, etc...)

I see lowriding sticking around in oneway or another just like hotroding....

Re: the death of lowriding?

Im going to have to go with lack of interest.... maybe lowriding is a long drawn out fad? As for the classic cars of the future..Im going to have to go with the following:

Cadillacs
Lincolns
Monte Carlo

I can see it now...your 60 years old and this kid rolls up and says hey look at the 90 caddy I picked up and going to restore.....

Re: the death of lowriding?

Well... Im 20 years old... and im rockin a lowrider! but i think what it is... that theres not enough of them in curtain spots to keep them goin... For example: i live in Tampa.... alot of donks and street racing out there.... but there are still small shops that do lowriders.... at the car meets on friday and sat. nights, im the only lowrider there.... sure u have ur mini trucks yadda yadda yadda, but those arent lowriders... im sayin when i get enough money to make this car bad ass.... and put on one hell of a show, who knows, maybe i can get another person into lowriding... then they would get someone, and so on.... i just think there has to be away to get lowriding noticed again....

but in hip hop, lowriding hasnt died. Dr. Dre is still rappin bout lowriding, Xizbit, The game, mike Jones, cypress hill...... most of there videos rock the classic lowriders... not these donks... i think we'll be ok.

Re: the death of lowriding?

lowriding is a way of life, a way you think, that can never die out. i have been around lowriders since i was 15 yrs old. byway of my older brother, got my first one ( 92 buick Roadmaster) at 16 yrs. old. now at 19 yrs young, i have my juiced up 95 lincoln towncar, my son will probably grow up around lowriders most of his life, and it is that genenration that will keep lowriders around for a long time. then he will probably past the lowridng culture on to his son as well, so i dont see lowriders going anywhere for a looooong time.

Could ethanol gas kill the old cars? I accidentally put ethanol gas in my 64 once..I was driving through another state and stopped at a shell. It fouled the plugs, and had to put another distributer on it. It run like shit and i thought I was losing my motor. I think ethanol sucks ass!

Re: the death of lowriding?

it's the cost of building a lowrider. Lowrider is not dead. Shitload of peeps wants to own one but doesn't want to spend over 6 g's for a ride + kit. I don't own one yet but it's in the process. We're one of the lucky ones that's able to afford a car and kit. Most people buy cars for work to take them from point A to point B. Just my 2 cent from what I see in Canada. Most people here in Canada are too fucking cheap to spend over a G but they like to day dream about driving a nice car. We use cars in scarborough Canada until it falls off lol.

you're one of the lucky who got a car at 15 years old. Me and my boys got our first ride when we hit 20's. All good because we now whipping them nice v's in Toronto but people here are too fucking cheap so it makes me wonder if we really whipping it real hard haha.
