| Remeber 9/11 Today!!! PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT IN OUR YOUR BUSY DAY TO REFLECT ON THE TRAGEDY OF 9/11 TODAY. I WOULD HOPE THAT EACH ONE OF US WILL NEVER EVER FORGET THAT DAY AS LONG AS WE LIVE. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU AS TO YOUR MEMORIES OF THE EVENTS OF THAT DAY.
I remember waking up to get ready to go work, and it was around 9 or so in the morning. I was working at a nursing home in utah at the time. I was a maintenance tech there. I turned on the TV and it showed tower one as it was already hit. They still didn't know what had happened yet. I remember reaching down to tie my work boots as I was watching the TV just as the second plane hit. I couldn't even tie my boot it shook me that bad. I rushed out to work as fast I could. it was silent and it was like the whole city chut down. everyone was inside and very few cars were on the road. I got to work and almost all the staff and residents were watching tv n the halls and thier rooms. We all just stood around watching. FEMA was in Salt Lake at the time and could do nothing, as all flights were grounded. I remember going back down to the maintenace shop and sitting on a bucket as the plane hit the pentagon and the crash of Flight 93 in the field. I remember having to go to radio shack in the mall to buy some electrical connectors and all the stores were open but everyone was inthe hall watching the big screen. The jewelry stores were wide open but no one in them. I remember standing there were strangers and crying as we watched the towers fall in the middle of the mall. I've never felt so close to strangers in my life and sad and angry all at the same time. I for one will not forget that day.
I have seen the movies since then such as FLIGHT 93 or Worlds Trade Center and it brings it all back like it was yesterday. If you have not seen them yet, today would be a good day to watch them.
Please do not be so caught up in your lives to forget what happened that day. Please at least have a moment of silence in your busy day to remember what happened that day on 9/11/01. |
