what do you think? possible for newbie?

Hi Guys,
The time has come and like most of you, I want to feel that pride and would like to build myself a lowrider. I'm not mechanically incline but I'm wondering if it's possible for a newbie to build his own lowrider. I have friends who are mechanically inclined so i'm not worried there because i'm sure they can help me. I'm good at welding so wrapping a frame or anything welded will be done by me. This will be my first lowrider and my first build-up. I don't have alot of confidence that I can do this but I have alot of faith that most of you will help me and give me advices. I'll also post pics of the buildup so you all can help me on the way and can see if I'm doing it right. I will post a buildup thread in a couple or few weeks once I get everything set-up. My first question is how thick of sheet metal should I use to wrap the frame? and do you think it's possible for a newbie to build his first lowrider or should I just pay someone to do it for me? I'm not in a rush to finish everything this year but hopefully it will be ready by next year June 2007.

Thanks all.. i'm really looking forward to build my first ride with you all.
