Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice
If it leaks that bad Teflon nor silicon will work I think your problem is with the fitting it’s self
Yo 1lowcut remember the big ball valve for the regulators and I put hella Teflon and silicon on it and the flange bottomed out and it till leaked that is what I think is happing hotrods316 try different fittings to see if you can get it to slow down or stop leaking if you can get the leak to slow down then Teflon or silicon will work try to get a pipe or brass push lock fitting or how silly it may sound go to Home Depot or Lowe’s and get one of those barbed fittings that the hose goes over like on a shop air compressor just to see if that style thread will slow it down or stop it from leaking its hard to say what it is I have brass push lock fitting on my bags I have had bad luck with compression fitting but 1lowcut his setup has compression fitting and his work great |

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice
YEah i siliconed the fuck out of it after i put mad tape on it. the paste did not do shit for me. I am hoping the silicone will seal a little better. If not I will buy new 1/2 Female NPT fittings and weld those fuxkers in, I hope to not have to do that but if i have to then i will. If i can get it to leak SLOW then I will be happy, I have to get it out of the way another project is coming in. So i am off to the garage and will post up how it does later tonight. Hey got any extra brass PTC fitings?
Thanks Matt |

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice
i would but i bought them from AIM and i am on the black list because i told them that they were crooks. so the fittings they sent me dont fit and i doubt anything will. If the silicone doesnt work, which i doubt it will work, i am going to JB WELD or EPOXY it. You got anymore of those brass PTC fittings.
Thanks\ Matt |

If not call the maker of the bag and see what they will say. Or give the info on the bag and to AIM to me or someone else to call on your behalf and ask why you can’t get the leaking to stop |

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice
I spent a bunch o money on my fittings cause I didn't want them to leak my car will stay up on all fours for about two days. Which is pretty good I think. I do have some crappy billet water traps and i know that is where I'm leaking with the old spray bottle method. But cheap fitting are not worth the hassle. plastic fittings are a joke. I've seen more air ride cars and trucks come into the shop complaining about it laying out all the time and it's almost always the fittings. It seems like some of the kits you by in mags come with the crap fittings. They have good parts in some areas then cheapin others to keep the cost down and get you to commit to buy thinking you got a good deal. The give you a cheap fitting and a no name compressor but good bags or something like that.
I'm taking my car to the shop this week and I'm stopping by the welding supply to check into a nice tank. I'm also running the same slam specialties bags as you guys. They are worth the price. The firestones have a pressed top and can pull upart with a higher PSI. The Slams are bonded and are made of KEVLAR and can hold alot. They are tough as hell. |

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice
Oh yeah and Teflon paste and tape is the way to go. Never heard of using silicone before. Does it work? Sounds messy I've never been a fan of silicone on about anything. For gaskets I've always used INDIAN HEAD or copper coat. hmm i wonder if INDIAN HEAD would work on the fittings? maybe I'll expierment with it on one of the cars in the lot at the shop to see if it would work. I know it takes for ever to dry but it won't leak. It's messy and can be ugly with the color of it if you get it all over. I'll try it and let you all know for fun.
