Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice

no, 300psi will do it for some good looking hops but i will probably run 180-210 psi for daily driving just to save the nitrogen. cruisin with other guys i'll put it up to 3-350 just for fun, it also sounds better when you dump 300+psi. slammed, did you notice how it sounded dumping 500psi? should take the mufflers off and go cruisin one time.

we run the new slam specialties xs6 bags. we did have regular firstone and conitech bags but you should go with the slam specialties. they cost more up front but we dont have to worry about blowing them. the valves are asco 350 psi rated. remember most of the ratings have a 4:1 failure rating. you can get 200psi of compressors but if you really want to be quick and get off the ground you will need nitrogen. with nitrogen you are in total control of what psi you run. you will need to go to a welding supply company and get a regulator and nitrogen bottle with brackets. one you have that you can simply adjust how much pressure you want to run on the regulator. other than that try to get your valve (at lest the fronts) as close to the bag as possible. not only does this make your bags faster it saves air. when your ready to do your install or upgrade anything let us know what your planning on and we will give you our advice. thats what this forum is for.

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice

thanks sounds good. put silicone on my fittings and screwed them in, i am going to let them sit over night and during the day tomorrow. I have to modify my shit that i made, dont like the way it looks, so that is my project tomorrow. So when i get that shit done hopefully the silicone is dry and then i will hook up my hoses and see. IF this doesnt work i am going balls out and getting epoxy, if that doesnt work i will just weld the fucking fitting into the bag, run it till it blows and buy some slams. SO there is my little rant, gotta get some h2o now i just ate some reallt hot ass chips. later
Matt

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice

Is your problem with the fitting at the bag of is it all the fitting like at your tank and valves?
What is it doing I know it’s leaking but is the fitting flange bottoming out? Is it leaking bad like it will hold air for only minutes or will it hold air overnight? Is your fitting compression of pipe fitting? compression fitting have a rounded end and pipe fitting has a flat end I think not to sure let me know in more detail on whats happing and I will see if I can figure it out

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice

So whats happening is the fitting flanges bottoms out on the top of the bag. the bags must be tapped too deep because no fittings screw down that far. I have used PTC and they leaked a little around the line so the ones i have now are DOT comprression. No it leaks as soon as any air hits it and I MEAN LEAKS. The car is down in like 3 mins. I have the bags set up like air shocks right now, no valves or anything, i just an air compressor to fill them up. I built a jig to hold the bag so i can find leaks before i put it on the car. Thought that was a good idea. If the silicone doesnt seal I am going to get cheap PTC fittings and then epoxy them in. I deal with polymers and my boss said it should work or if not acetone will eat the epoxy to get the fittings out. I just wanna ride on air because i set it up to be LOW!!!!! and it is. i tuck half of my wheel and they are 15" on medium tires. I hope to GOD that the silicone works, if not i will get a ttiny piece of pipe cut and threaded and then put a fem-fem connector or something. Alright there is my situation if you have any ideas or ?'s let me know. Thanks Matt

Re: Likes and Dislikes on Airbags or Juice

this is wg=here slammed and i disagree. i use "liquid teflon" over regular teflon. so get you fitting and wrap it with regular teflon, 3-4 times around. i know that sounds like allot but it will work. then put a nice layer of liquid teflon aover the "tape teflon" then insert the fittinf and tighten. have you hit it with soapy water to ensure that its the thread part of the fitting? i had the same problem but i chaned to compression fittings and that was the end of that..
