What were the original lowrider wheels?
I've been studying lowrider historty a little lately. Everyone now classifies lowriders with wirewheels for the most part. Does anyone know what was used before that in the 50's and 60's, I'm going to say SUPREMES is what i think. Anyone else have what the used back in the old skool?

Re: What were the original lowrider wheels?
Didnt they use 5-20's (for tires) in the old days?? Thats what i've heard. Now their hard to find and we use the 155-80R13. And I also agree with the supremes. I would really like to see some pics of the original lowriders taken way back in the day. Some of the first hydro installs... would be cool to see what they did.

Re: What were the original lowrider wheels?
I have a lowrider history of hydro movie and it shows how they used hydralic pumps from war surplus stores from the air plane landing gears. The would also steal the pumps of the lift gates of delivery trucks back in the day. Some guys still use them they have a distinct sound and movement to keep it vintage on their ride.
