Yeah I can help out but I need some more info. So you have the floor down? if so, it just a matter of framing up the walls and the roof. For the walls, start with a top and bottom board, the length of the wall (2 boards if needed). Place 1 96" stud on each end so you end up with a square frame. After that, place stud in the middle every 16" on center; all out of 2x4. You should build this laying flat on the ground and then once completed, raise it up, attach it to the floor and use some 2x4 braces to hold it up until you get the other walls done; obviously making sure it is level. Do the same for your other walls. Once they are up, take another board and put it along the top, making sure to connect each wall with the other. From there, your ready to frame the roof and put plywood on the roof and walls. Let me know when your there and we'll talk more about that.

rhanks scott.. i apreciate it.....
for some reason they will be using 2x6????? also.... the roof will need to slant from front to back ... the new room is off the back of the house ( dont let me lie) back of the trailer.... so the roof will have to slant front to back, not side to side the house roof is already only at 8ft..... so will we have to slope down into the 7ft region to keep water from standing... I think the main thing they are looking for is an idea of how much wood to buy? you know not to over or under do it... plus framing in windows and doors to match the trailer..... i sent dennis a pic of the decking.. half will be room, half will be a deck... i will have roughly 12 x 15 6 |
