Well DR, first thing I hear is a fuel, or lack thereof.
Could also be a corrided distributor cap.
Vaccum leak,
There are certain things to under LOAD.
Can you check in distributor cap or did you.

Or am I misunderstanding PUTTT PUTTT

Dont know if you have a carb or not ,but mine was doing the same thing . The accelartor pump was going out in the carb. Might be the timing issue .

Some part in the carb . Thats what i was told when i took it to Pep Boys to have it tested . My carb was still under warranty when this happen ,so they just swapped it out. The car would run good at idle and low speed , but as soon as you got on it would boog down and almost stall out.

Within the fuel system you can have many little things that can cause this and with some cars an issue always tends to stand out more. If homie here has a simular year and simular motor the sugestion he made could save you alot of time and money.

If it's not the same we can use a process of elimination to not spend money and narrow the problem down.

??? Is the car "swithed84" is talking about a Ford???

Where are you now on this problem??
The same as we discussed two days ago??

If yes, two things to do.
One with the car running disconnect a vacuum line directly from the carberator. The car SHOULD start running rough.
Next disconnect one spark plug wire while the car is running BE CAREFUL. The car SHOULD start missing.

Tell what happens when you do each one of these.

My porpose is to eliminate ignition or vacuum leak. Then we can go to fuel....

Unhooked all vacuum lines and really didnt notice a difference. Now when it warms up, how open should the carburator be? Also I reved it up some and it shot fire out the carb, so I turned up the timing just a bit and it quit doing that. Also unhooked #1 spark plug and nothing...
