while driving at any speed...Once you get at a constant speed, and stay at that speed for lets say 5-7 seconds, you feel a shaking in the front end...Its not alignment shake or balance shake...Had those checked out...What would cause a FWD car to shake like that?? Or any suggestions would help

Lets first establish where to start. You have had this professionaly checked out but I need you to check something first before we rule out the front end! Can you please left up the front end of the car with the steering wheel in the locked position. Then go outside to your tire wheels, grap ahold of the top of the wheel with one hand, and the bottom of the wheel with the other, then push and pull :noting how much movement you get. Do this to both sides of the front end. Tell me how much??? |

i dont beleive there are bearing in a fwd car
the cv shaft slides into a grooved hole and turns the whole hub i may be wrong but i dont recall any bearings in any of the fwd cars i have changed cv shafts on.. so far those include honda, geo, toyota, 99 gm i dont remember any bearings in the front end u described in the other post that it stops when u hit the gas this to me would sound like a fuiel problem or a timing problem more than likeky fuel the car doesnt feel boggy while its doing this does it? if shaking is the only problem then hitting the gas to make it quit doesnt really make sense of course i cant make a proper diagnoses without driving the car |

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I was under the impression that FWD has two carrier bearings on either side where the spline goes to transfer case. BUT I COULD BE MISTAKEN. I also apolagize for not knowing about the other thread and acceleration. I was under the impression that this was already past some other elimination processes. MY BAG HOMIES. WHERE ARE YOU NOW ON THIS??? |
