custom grill

need a custom grill made!! dont know how to weld or would do it myself.

79 camaro, same pattern as the stock. maybe some rolled steel, the O.G. grill is plastic.

Never fear! I built one before I learned to weld and I had to replace a plastic grille.

Go to a hardware store and buy some aluminum stock. You can buy channel, tubing, or solid rectangular stock. You can notch the back of the channel or strips to make the V in the center of your grille.

I anchored it to my pickup with threaded rod. Get some black plastic tubing to use as spacers between the grille bars, drill the bars, insert the threaded rod, and bolt down the ends.

You can polish the aluminum to look like chrome. I bought something called Wenol polish at a car show - it's great!

i have a friend that is going to weld one up for me i just need to get around and buy the metal.
oh yea and save up for the plating.

use stainless tubing. you can polish and chrome it. you can use a variety of thickness, 1/4,3/8, 1/2. harder to bend as you increase the size. you also need a to get another piece of stainless and notch groves for the tube to sit into. then you need to have someone tig weld it for you. can get creative on how you want to mount it, depends on the car. examples: the glasshouse from lifestyle in LRM recently, puro sangre (mario's 60 impala in BLVD), i posted on LIL some pics of an impala with a custom grille.
