Swing bike from 70's

Any one ever heard of a swing bike built in the 70's. The front end can swing side to side while your riding straight. I think Donny Osmond endorsed them and they sell for a ton on e-bay. I found one in my parents shed and I'm thinking it would kick ass as a low bike? Look one up and see what you guys think?

If it is an original swing bike it should be worth something. I’m not sure the details but I think they stopped making them when Nixon was president the government or I think the guys name was Ralf Nader thought they where to dangers for kid and they outlawed them in America so the only way to get one I think is to make one I’m not to sure but it was something like that

Re: Swing bike from 70's

I think they were made in olympia Washington. The one I have is yellow but now rims on it just the handle bars, frame, all the swing parts, that's why I thought it would make a cool low bike. With the swinging front end would be crazy!

About two years ago my dad bought an original swing bike, never assembled, in the box, at a thrift shop for 20 bucks. He put it together it was mint with orange color frame. We didn't know they were rare and he donated it to sub for santa. Some little goverment welfare sucking kid got it and beat the hell out of it and threw it away 6 months later. My dad found out from one of the other social workers at his office, that it went to an undeserving white trash brat. We quit donating to them and now just find those that we know need help but never ask for it and just trying to get by to make it on their own. They deserve the great gifts, not some greedy pity case.

I say get that bike and pimp it.
My grandfather was the one who told my about the history of swing bikes he had one in the garage and some kid tryed to swiped it and swung is into my grandfathers car that was parked on the street trying to get away the kid smack his head on the car and needed to get stitches after that my grandfather got rid of the bike I don’t know what he did with it. I never got to ride it.

Re: Swing bike from 70's

Okay over the weekend dragged out the frame and dusted it off. It looks like I'm missing the seat and the front wheel, and handle bars. I have the frame, chain rear wheel sproket, and front sproket, but the bearings are shot. So I need to start shopping for parts any suggestions?
