stem problem

i've had this problem for a while witht the stem it won't stayin one position and i've tightend the bolt as tight as much as possible got any suggestions on what i could do?

What do you mean it won't stay? Do you mean it lossens or something? If so get the lock washer and it'll stay put. I had that problem witht the big nut on top loosening when I turned the wheel one way and tightening when I turned it the other... So get the locking threaded washer from your local bike shop for like a dollar or two and it should be all fixed! Good luck and lemme know if you have anymore problems with it!

ah i'll have to try that but it doesn't loosen it is tight as hell and the handle bars still move almost freely and i have even had a bike shop look at it and they couldn't fix it so yea

Hmm.... I don't know.. if the bike shop couldn't fix it then either they suck of it's beyond repair... Try the washer and let me know what happenes...

Cool

buy a new stem or gooseneck...it sounds like its not tight at the top where the handlebars are.(if it moves freely like u said) but also make sure ur barings r greased up and even try putting a washer in the top part of the headset somewhere so it will slide easy! hope some of this helped....i dont really understand what ur problem is though :frog:
