can i remove my vinyl top on my 82 cutlass supreme and paint the car without it? theres really nothing wrong with the vinlyn top, looks great but am planning on doing a metal flake green paintjob next year and since its a tan top i though id just eliminate it? anyone know what it looks like under there?

tan and green go together

i think think the 1/4 windows are different on a hardtop and you have to get rid of the studs.

I'm guessing, rusty
you will need to take it off and just see. It's like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get.

You may need to replace some trims if you take off the top. Mine has the runner that runs from the bottom of the window all the way to the other side. I think you just need to pull the trim from another car that did not have the top.
