Re: bodywork
A paint job, the body work will make or break a paint job. There is a lot more the just sanding and painting, if you just want to change the color and don’t care if the paint job is wavy or if you panels and panels gap are off, then you can just sand and spray.

Re: bodywork
small part of the roof have about 1cm of bondo
. Had to grind it to make sure that I clean out the rust underneath it. Biggest rust hole I seen in that car today is about 1-1/2 cm. next move is change the quarter panel. I haven't done it before but I will try changing it anyways . |

There are ways on finding high and low spots. The best way is to take the car down to metal and start from scratch, but if you have never done body work then just sand the glaze of the old paint that will save some steps. If you take it down to metal then after you prime and seal it then spray a guide coat and sand to find highs and lows before you shoot. If you dig too far in the old paint and exposes metal then try to just sand it smooth and blend that spot you will make low spots and you might see that low spot after you re-spray it, try to keep everything even And when you spray leap frog your panels so you keep the car wet when you’re spraying. |
