Re: lite fiberglass work; need help

well its easy...ill giv you basics and you can fill in the rest..lol
first need a base plate or the actual door panel.
make you some rings from MDf that the speakers will mount to.
take those rings and use 1/2" dowel rods to mount the rings to panel at the angle you want them at.
then get some fleece material and stretch it all over it to get your shape and staple to back side to hold it.
then get some reesin and apply it all over and soak it in real good.
let it dry and smooth it down a lil bit with 80 grit paper.......

Re: lite fiberglass work; need help

then you can use "kitty hair" stuff and more resin applied to the surface to strengthen it a lot.
sand in between each coat ...after you get about 2 kitty hair coats and about 3 more resin coats...it should be hard as a rock when dry...follow all directoins on resin and kitty hair containers.......

Re: lite fiberglass work; need help

the finishing is with body filler and LOTS and LOTS of sanding...get it as smooth as you can get it....thenclean it good and use about 4-6 coats of primer....light color if you want final color to be vivid.....sand betwenn each coat....then when all thats done......clean it good and paint with the color you want it to be...and be careful not to make it run...easy to do with all the complex curves and such.....there you got it,a custom setup...L8rZ
