Making custom door panels and Dash

Hi I wanted to build the dash and door panels out of fiberglass. How do people do that with tvs in it and stuff. I have the stock panels and dash. I also have had a lot of experience with fuberglass but have never learned how to do this. So, if anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it.
The way i think I would do it is take the vinyl covering of and cover the plastic with fiberglass after I build the box for tv and everything. Is that how people make it. Again I am not sure, this is just a guess so if you have any experience doing this and can help me out I'd really appreciate it, Thank you

use wood to get the basic shape, then lay out, and staple any kind of felt like material to it,child/baby blanket type material at wal-mart,,,reason being,,its soft and stretches,and gives u a nice basic shape,,after u got the shape u want,,lay out fiberglass mat and pour resin and spread evenly thruout,,,,after that,,its all bout sanding sanding sanding,,and then primer, sand ,primer,sand,,and so on,,,,then, u are ready for you paint
