How to do FLOW COAT
1.paint your car as normal, let it have enough time to dry enough to sand.
2.sand the clear with 600-800 grit wetpaper to cut out all the orange peel and trash (if any)
3.put it back in the booth and spray a light tack coat
4.when the tack coat drys up a bit,hit it again with a heavy coat (flow coat),as heavy as you can get it without running it.
5.hit it again just like in step 4
REASONING FOR FLOW COATING
When you sand the first clearcoating, you are making a perfectly flat surface for the flow caot to go over.when you do the second clearcoating,it will be going on a hard slick surface with no orange peel and it will flow out and look like glass. If you do not have any runs or trash in it,it will be a finished product when it dries. In most cases, you can colorsand and buff the first clearcoating if you put enough clear on it to sand flat, flowcoating is just another way to do it.I have a paintbooth that is capable of force drying the paint,so I use flowcoating alot,it is faster that buffing but it is more expensive.
