On one of my old cars i shaved the handle off and kept the keyhole, and the only way to open the door from the outside was using the key... it worked excellent for me, but my door didn't take much force to open it.
All you do is take the rod completely off of the key hole (since it isn't needed anymore) and then take the rod off the door handle and bend it to where it will attach to the keyhole and where it will move freely when the key is turned. It "should" work on your mazda, because the mazda doors are easy to open and shouldn't take much force from the keyhole... at least both of the mazda trucks i had were easy to open... another thing, try to lubricate inside your keyhole AND the door rods, this will make it work even easier when opening with the key... AND go to wal-mart or a key shop and get a couple extra keys made, that way if you ever do break one you will have another. Jason |
