Question MO the interior man

When sewing seats and you have seams that make the ripple effect, are these sewn in to the foam thru the fabric?? I may not be explaining myself the best but i can show you a pic of what im talking about

they make something called ''sew foam''..it has a special backing on it,,and sew your new material with it attached on the back....just undo your entire seat,,,make all the patterns with new material,,,and sew back together,,,be sure to use the 'sew foam' where the pleats are

in this pic,,,they are not sewn.....they make that material right there,,that has the pleats already in there,,,not sewn at all,,,,,as for the ones i did in wes' car,,,i sewed each one,,,,useing sew foam on the back to make the pleats stick up
