| Member | In need of help I have decided to cover the plastic moldings in my car because the paint just continues to chip off . I covered some of the pieces already in some vinyle ,but where the pieces curve there is a lot of wrinkles in it . I took my time in doing it , streching it to get as much of them out, but they are still there . Can i use like a heatgun or blow dryer to get them out or sould i just rip the fabric off them and cover them in crush? |

| Registered User | Billy...how i do vinyl is use a heat gun to heat it up and it will stretch really good....it all depends on the vinyl..some stretch good, some dont.....ofcourse crush would be easier,,but if u want the white vinyl look,,just use heat gun,but dont get too close and dont hold on there for long..or it will start to bubble up...but when u go to glue them on,,,u need some good strength glue,,or they will start too peel off.. and u need to spray both the plastic peice and the material..and let both almost dry..then as soon as it touches the plastic,,it will stay in place... hope this helps,....maurice |

| Member | Thanks Maurice, I wasn't sure about the heat gun . I am using some glue made by Permatex ,it seems to be holding it pretty good . The vinyl is streching pretty good to ,it is just around all the bends and curves like on the a-pillar that are getting the wrinkles in it .Man i bet the plastic around the quarter windows is going to be alot of fun to do . Thanks alot . |
