battery rack

I'm gonna be building a battery rack in 2 weeks and I was wondering if the rack needs to be welded to the trunk floor or bolt on is fine?

Re: battery rack

Bolt is fine, but try to hit some solid metal and not just the sheet metal of the trunk floor..

thats maybe why you are having trouble running 72v.

you need to cut a hole down to the top of the frame rails in the trunk. Weld in your rack there. Never bolt straight to the sheetmetal in the trunk or weld just to that.

Here is a pic of my old regal. Try to get the batts in the corners as much as possible. Mount the solenoids to the batt rack in the corner might have to weld an extended piece of metal to get them up higher of the rack. Cut holes in the square tube for your wires to your pump motors and dumps. That will make for a cleaner install and only necessary wires are seen. Oh yeah ground the dump to itself, you dont need two wires coming of the dump.

Re: battery rack

Thank you bro. The picture helps alot. But what's holding that pump to sit like that? I'm not sure if that piece comes with the kit

might be the issue of why you cant run 72v without burning up noid. Well if it was bolted to the frame on top of some posts that were weld to the frame would be much better than grounding to sheetmetal at that high of voltage.

But if the 48v solenoids trick is working for you dont switch.
