Question New 64 with Hydraulics

What's up? I just bought a 1964 Impala with 4 pumps and 8 batteries, 16 switches. I need to do some work on the set up. Does anyone have any guidance on wiring the switch box and fixing leaks? My set up needs a good tune up. I would appreciate any advice anyone has!!!!!

For the leaks, redo all the fittings with new teflon tape.....

How many switches?

Switches.

I have 16 switches on the switcha panel under the dash and 10 in the switch box with the extention cord.

How hard is it to change out the O-rings in the cylinders? What is the process for that?

Big Sarge,

Not hard at all, easier if you can remove the cylinder from the car....

1. remove cylinder if possible, you will have to undo the hose at the top, BESURE there is no pressure in the cylinder or prepare to get sprayed.

2. undo the big fitting at the end of the cylinder

3. undo and remove any fittings at top of cylinder

4. pull out the shaft, may have to insert long object, such as screw drive in fitting end to help push a bit.

5. now once cylinder is removed, you should be able to see the orings. Besure you replace with same....( We always went to the local hardware store and just went to plumbing and matched them up....seemed to work fine with no problems...

6. install in reverse order...

7. pray it worked...

Good luck Monty...
