For some reason the left front of my car keeps dropping... When it's fully raised, there is no problem, or when I close off the tap on the pump (it doesnt dump), so it isn't a check valve problem... What got me wondering is that there is no problem when the car is fully raised... I've replaced the o-rings on the dump valve, and the ram, still the same problem. The local hydraulic shop can't figure it out either... Just wondering if somebody here could point me in the right direction...

If it is only dropping when car is semi-raised and not when its all the way up, I would say you have a bad cylinder. Probably the middle of the cyclinder is very worn causing oil to leak when car is not all the way up. Cant really think of anything else...

there is no oil leaking on the ground... cos I thought of the same thing...

did you see my post in Unity Aus forum ?

if there is no oil leaking, it must be either seeping back into the tank, or because its not fully lifted the oil must be seeping into one of the other cylinders, not sure on your set up but i guess you got 1 pump to the front ? does the car completely drop one side but lift the other ? if so i bet the heavier side of the car is dropping (i.e. the one with the engine battery in) this happens if there is air trapped in the system, do you have selfbleeding tank caps ? if not try bleeding the system.

The trick is to work out where the fluid is going to !

dump cartridge is leaking.take the cartridge out and see if something is in the little holes on the end of cartridge.you can usauly clean it out to fix problem.if the cartridge is swollen and the coil will not come off then it is need of being replaced.

i had this problem at one time too..

my problem was the switch was sticking. when i would raise the car half way i guess i didnt hit the switch as hard and it wouldnt disengage all the way... but when i lifted the front all the way the switch would pop right back out..and wouldnt stick

I did read the post Jon...
I've blead the system a few times, and still same problem... Like you said, I gotta find out where the oil is going back to...
Gonna get the cartridge checked out this week...

Why do the cartridges swell up so much ?

because of the pressure the cartridge is taking.delta are only 2,000 psi.but the new cartriges have i that are rated at 5,000. psi.they don't swell at all.replace the cartridge without replacing the block.saves some money.
