Post frame reinforcement

i am taking the juice and my bed off the truck this weekend in order to reinforce the rear end. what i need to know is what is the best size steel to use to do this. i am tring to prevent my frame from bending as all the weight is at the tailgate. do i just need to box in or what?

Wink

I did my pickup in 1/4 inch steel...Also with the 63 as well...I have never bent anything while using it...I didnt box it in...Just ran it on both inner and outer rails of the frame...If you have the time and money, boxing it would be best but i hopped mine about 12-20 inches and 3 wheeled all the time and never had a problem and used it as a daily...Again that was on a 93 Nissan

i would box it if ya got the time and energy. Also, 1/4 or 3/8 depending on the avail. equipment. But that choice is really up to you.

That was my problem too...With reverse wheels they wouldnt tuck for me...I left about an inch of clearance from the tire to the bed
