in theory the back door is a peice of 3/8s line tapped into the pumphead and ran out of the return port on the block(which also needs tapped) therefore utilizing all the pressure the block creates.... but its not as simple as it sounds

more or less.... i dont think it will double the pressure, but give you back what has been lost....

it utilizes the wasted pressure that gets pushed to the other end of head

pump heads push pressure both ways.. cept in out pump heads and blocks, there is only 1 port.. therefore the pressure that is being pushed the other way, just goes back into the tank
