Discuss 350 or 327 in the Engine Tuning and Maintenance Forum. I prefer the 327 because it revs higher and is more stout than the 350....

I prefer the 327 because it revs higher and is more stout than the 350.

i cant knock the 283. i have shattered 3 tranys with a 283. the last one i had was 10:1 compression.

Plus the older 283 comes with a forged crank. I have 2-283's that came out of the 63 Impala with the forged crank.

You can make the 350 rev like the 327, you just need to lighten up the rotating mass. That's why the 327 revs better, it just gets to the power ban quicker.

I want the LSX motor, you can make a 454 CID small block NOW THAT'S A MOTOR!!!!! you get the cubic inch displacement but in a lighter faster revving motor.

cant beat a 350. can find all sorts off parts for them for cheap to make good horsepower.

Can't beat a LS motors you can find all kinds of parts for the small block Chevy
