Re: Pertronix

So you keep the same distributer and all? Right? I hear its better to get a " hotter" coil?

Depending on the manufacture of the unit, you will need to see that they require for optimal performance.

Re: Pertronix

i did a point to electronic conversion of my own doings.
i had a 1979 cvcc with a 1.2 in it and it had points ignition.i took a electronic distributor from a newer bigger accord and used two mounting plates to get the gears to line up ,cam and dist gears, and used the factory box from firewall and wired it all up with a fuse...and it actually worked, got better
HP and quicker take off...i also bumped the valve timing on it when i changed the timing belt...it was a quick lil beast.....L8rZ

Re: Pertronix

i did it in my 64 bel air fuck points. pertronix is the only way to go. just install it and never have to worry about settin points again. my brother put mine in under 20 min. car warmed up faster got way better gas milage etc etc etc. my 63 impala has a hei so i dont need one now but if it camw with points u can bet ur sweet ass i would run pertronix over points any day. while ur in the area boost up ur coil with an accel flame thrower ignition coil. its shiny chrome and makes a hell of a lot more power then the stock one. get ur self some good fat wires and run autolite plugs. the best plugs for a chevy that u can run.
i was runnin a 283 with 10:1 compression with an edelbrock 600 cfm carb gettin like 8 miles to the gallon. put in a pertronix and and accel flame thrower coil started gettin close to 14 miles to the gallon. cali air might be different but i also ran a k&n air filter , oil filter and had no hood but hey this is my personal expierience, may b this will help.

Re: Pertronix

Thanks for the purchase DRLOWZ You will love it and it should only take you no more than 15 to 20 minutes to install including the new coil. Cool site by the way bro.
