Honda timing belt

Has anyone here changed the timing belt on a Honda? I have a 00 accord and need to have the belt changed. I hear the water pump and a few seals are in the process too. I am assuming that the labor is somewhat intensive as the labor fee is what brings the cost up so high for the reapir. Parts them selves are not spendy. Probably end up doing it myself anyway just because I haven’t done one before and should be able to say “I can do that”.

Anyone done this before? Was it easy?

HAHAHA......that suck ass, is the motor facing forward? if so that still sucks just not as bad. We will need to take the front of the motor apart, you should have got a Chevy cuz it's not easy.

Ive never done a honda but done a neon....you know side ways motor and all...if something is stuck dont force it cause some of the parts might be that cast stuff and just snap.... Most likely the water pump will have to be removed and as long as it off REPLACE it too...and would be a good idea to replace the tensioner.

so you dont need to be an expert to do this then. How long did it take you to do? I also have a neon that needs it too. Its the ladies car so I'll practice on that one first

Its been a while since we did it but if I remember it took a while to do it, like an all day job....but worth it if your looking to save a buck.

Re: Honda timing belt

I'll give it a shot when it warms up because I really dont want to spend all day in the cold ass garage. Tearin down the motor with frozen fingers sucks! I think we have all been there before.
