Re: iPod vs Cd
damn cuz you on a roll. ur postin everywhere. the question isnt really cd vs. ipod, those are jus the sources in which there stored. i believe what you asking is the difference between a .wav or an .mp3, or even a .wma. the .wav format is really the standard. that what you regular audio cd's you buy from the store are in. .mp3 is a compressed format of the same file, which helps when storage is an issue. .wma is very similar to the mp3, jus what media player calls its file extention.

Re: iPod vs Cd
I can't tell the difference most of the time. But the .wav or the store bought cd will sound better then an .mp3 because the .wav was the orginal sounce of the music, when you change it to an .mp3 you take away some of the sound quality. But one thing to also keep in mind is that you can change the quality is which the music is goin to be compressed. the higher that number the less its goin to take away from the sound quality, but also the more space it goin to take up. better sound usually means a bigger file size. thats one of the reasons you can put so many songs on your ipod because you changing the size of the file. i mean another example is that same audio cd in .wav can only hold 16 17 tracks, that same cd in .mp3 can hold a couple hundred (of course both depending on the file size)

Re: iPod vs Cd
I dont notice any difference in my ipod or cd......... I notice sound level differences in tracks that are on burned or downloaded cd's but i mainly get my music direct from itunes. i dont mind paying for it becase its sounds better that downloaded copies of copies.
