How to Bridge an Amp and the Effects....

Bridging is basically taking to channels on an amp and making them one. Your amp must have at least two channels and be capable of being bridged (see your owners manual for the newbies) When you bridge an amp basically you are cutting the resistance in half. Example: if you're hooking up a 4ohm sub your amp is reading a 2ohm sub. Bridging puts a lot of strain on your amp, so it will get hot faster. On your amp you will have (on a 2 channel amp) a left and right input with a positive and negative hookup for your subs.
Usually this is marked on the amp. In most cases unless otherwise stated take the positive wire from the sub to the positive input on the left channel and the negative wire from your sub from the negative on the right channel. This is the basic, some amps I have run across require use of only the positive inputs on your amp so read your manual before bridging if possible. And make sure your amp can handle low ohm loads as if its not you can permanently damage your amp.

Hook up them capacitors

A capacitor is simply a device that parallels the power supply. Simply connect the + and - on the capacitor to the same poles on the amplifier power input, along with the battery cables.

The way the cap works is accumulating a massive charge during quiet periods, and releasing it when a deep note draws it out. This can avoid some clipping distortion. And sometimes also help with to much current being drawn out Like dimming of headlights.Depending on the system a cap can be very useful and other times a waste of money. © 2002 United Ridaz

and 1 more thing homies dont waste your money on a cap.get a HIGH OUTPUT ALT AND A GOOD UNDERHOOD BATT AND ALSO 1 IN THE TRUNK BY THE AMP.
