Question Easy question about Amp install

This is an easy one, but this is my first install and I'm not getting the same bass out of these subs.
Q?: whats the correct way to wire the RCA's from my head unit to my dual amplifier set up.

Setup: head unit with 2 pre-amped outs. ( marked front and rear)
4CH Amp for highs.
2CH AMP for two twelves(subs)

This is the current configuration:
Front preamp out to my 4ch amp
Rear preamp out to my 2ch amp
Im getting ok sound but I don't think it's hitting as hard or as clean as the last car the same setup was in. RCA's dont seem right or somethin. Any help/ thanx

answer #1 use Y connectors....

it sounds like there either way a signal out and you need new rca's or you have another problem.....with your hookup....could be lots of things......

check you've got the + and - connections round the right way on your speaker cable, other wise your speakers will be working backwards (sort of) and sound crisper from the back rather than the front !

or you could have a speaker or 2 out of phase, like john said, and they will cancel out some, if not all of the bass.

Problem solved. Thanx 4 tha help though. I switched my RCA for my bass over to some thick ass monster cable (helped a little), but the real trick was wiring in my subs parallel to get more juice out of my amp. I'm positive it wasn't wired in parallel in my last car but whatever. It works now. I'm bumpin again. I need to upgrade my amp now.
