Question why??

would a vcr put out a constant engine noise thru the speakers?? Even when the car is not running??

I am working on this guys car and is it a bad VCR and what part may be causing that??

un hook the vcr, see if it stops....... could be hia audio/ video cables interfering with the power wires..

that is possible
maybe head noise from the vcr

Question

It only happens when you watch a tape...When you have it in, and listen to the tape, there is noise...When no tape is playing then no noise???
Stereo shop said it was my vcr today??
how could i correct??

get a DVD player and throw the vcr away
you can try a noise filter but don't really know if it will work
you can also go with a high quality audio input

Question

Cant get rid of the vcr just yet...Its a Clarion similiar to mine but he hasnt had but about a year and a half...i changed out the rcas...What else can i do for as far as high quality that you can think of?? Im clueless on this one besides the obvious of get a new VCR...

it could be a head problem or a bad audio output on the vcr. i would hook something else to the audio input to make sure that it is the vcr before you replace it.

try these too thing and hit me back with the conclusion mike...

#1 run the power wires on one side off the vehicle and the rca jacks on the other.....

#2 put the vcr in like a wood crate or wrap a blanket around it....

Let me know what it does when you try these 2 things...

The noise is probably interfearance from the VCR motor spinning the spindles, try earthing the motor casing to the chassis of the VCR, or get a new motor.
