Jl ??

I got a good deal on 10'' JL subs in two JL powerwedge boxes yesterday . I took the speakers out of the box and the inside of the boxes are filled with stuffing . What is the purpose of the stuffing. Should i leave it in or take it out ?

The stuffing is there for 1 reason only...To take up air space in the box

I am going to have to build a box so i can fit both of them my trunk .Will i have to be worried about air space ? Can i make it to fit just right and then fill it with the stuffing ? I can hook anything up ,but i can not build a box out wood for nothing . My last box had about two tubes of caulk on it and it still leaked .So this time i am going to try to fiberglass one , hopefully with no leaks.

Its better to build it to spec for best quality sound but if you go bigger just add the cotton/foam to account for the oversized box

Holla if you need specs on the speakers and i'll get that for you

Talking

be careful tho, adding cotton can make a box sound deeper and giv an undesired effect
