valves are sticking

I am a first timer on here and a first timer with air ride. So here is my problem. I bought everyting you need to make it work. installed it and all that stuff! I bought brand new 3/8 valves. they only work when they want to. the wiring is all right and flow is correct. the only way to get them to work when i want is to tap on them while holding the switch the down, and then after a few taps the will work or i get lucky and it works on the first tap LOL. they are gold valves. got them from airbagit.com. I have alwalys though air would be fun...but so far its a pain! maybe i bough junk valves or something what ever it is someone PLEASE HELP ME!

THANKS!

Re: valves are sticking

You will have to open the valve and clean it up. For some reason it's sticking, maybe some spilled some soda while they built it. Since you bought them new try and get them exchanged. What brand of valves are they because not all have rebuild kits. Is this happening to all your valves or just one?

Re: valves are sticking

The chances of all of them sticking as a defect is unlikely. What did airbagit say about exchanging them?

To clean them you will need to actually open them up. I havent actually done this my self but have seen the rebuild kits online.

If an exchange is not an option try buying a new valve, install it and see if the problem is still there. sounds more of an electrical problem but you say thats good.

new valve: same problem= not the valves.

Re: valves are sticking

It sound like a ground problem to me.
Is it a manifold valve set up?

Re: valves are sticking

I just looked them up, they're single valves. Only cost $15 ea so maybe you did get what you paid for and their all bad. If your sure the wiring is good order another valve and see if it works as planned. (spend more than $15 on the new valve)

Re: valves are sticking

well i ordered the 3/8 valves but they sent me 3/4 valves with reducers. i called them and ask what the problem could be and they said my power wire is to small coming from my controll box. which doesn't make sence because the valve wires are smaller then the controll box wires... we tried gournding over and over in multi places. so i don't thank thats the problem. i will prolly order another valve. any suggestions on where a good place to order valves/parts from? I just went to a website i saw in a mini truck magazine. i'm cleaning them with pb and hoping that is going to work. maybe i need a better dryer system? any ideals?

Re: valves are sticking

okay i will try that. i'll let you guys know what happens. it will be easier for me to do that then to order another valve. only because i am an electrician so i can get that at work! thanks for the ideals and help. you think i just need to upsize the wire to the controll/switch box or all the wires in the box?
