Has Anyone Sucessfully done this?
Hey,
I am just tryin to get in the game here and I am having no luck, and was hopeing someone out there could help me out. Here's my situation. I have a 72 cadillac eldorado that I want to put bags on. The rear looks real easy to get bags on, but I have no idea on how to do the front. The car has front wheel drive and a torsion bar. (This is the same suspension as 71-85 Eldorados, 80-85 Sevilles, 71-85 Olds Toronado, and 79-85 buick Riviera). PLEASE if you know anything about how to make this set-up work I would really appreciate it. Thanks. |

Welcom to the UR forums
I had a 83 Eldorado back in high school, it was a good car. I know that the back is easy but the front will be tricky with the front wheel drive and a motor that faces forward like a rear wheel drive car. 1lowcut and I can help with the air setup and tech questions when you get to that point. I will look around to see if I can find some info on lifting the front on your kind of car. |

I looked and looked,
I can't find any info on a lowrider 72 Eldo. I do know that the changed the body style in 79 or 80 to a smaller car. For the drive train the Eldo. are all front wheel drive from like the 70's on up. You might want to call some Hydro shops online to see what they say on your car. |

Re: Has Anyone Sucessfully done this?
That front end is a pain. normally what you would do is mount the upper bracket off the frame rail and the lower off the lower control arm. you will need to relocate the shock to mount off the frame and to the front or rear of the lower control arm. you can either leave the torsions intact and crank them all the way down or remove them completely. if you leave them intact and crank them down the car will lift faster and at a lower psi because the torsions are helping. if you eliminate them then it will require higher psi to lift but the car will go lower.......
