I'm Lovin it!!!!! But Need Help!
Waz really good,
Damn I gotta say I'm really lovin what I'm seein on here being a huge fan of the lowrider scene, but never really had the money to invest into fixin up the ride, but thats all changin. So I'll be on here quite often, I gotta show them how to roll out here in the mid-west (D-town). They sleepin on it! Sorry, I tried reading alot of the threads to answer my questions but every application is different, so I'm sorry for the redundence. But at any rate, I have a 1994 Cadillac Sedan DeVille that I'm getting ready to bag. I was goin to run 2 Viair 480c's, 2 5-10 gallon tanks, and 1/2" line all around. Now of course like alot of people I want a pretty fast system, so I was trying to run a lil over 200psi. Should I? But I'm only finding valves, compressors, tanks, and pressure switches rated max @ 200psi. Can they be pushed a lil further? Also I'm having the hardest time finding the mounting brackets (front and rear). I found a few places but they wanna sell them with the bags which drives the price up. So does anyone know where to get this hardware? Can I fab something up? how? |

Re: I'm Lovin it!!!!! But Need Help!
Welcome to the site! For you brackets talk to customer service and ask if they can change out the bags that they sell in the kit for some slam specialties. If they will then just do that unless you already have some bags. If you do I would still replace them with slams when you have the chance. Get at least the HE series rated at 400 PSI just so when you want to get crazy you can and don’t have to worry about blowing them. As for the tanks, lines, ect don’t worry to much about the rated PSI because most of that has a 4:1 burst rate so it will actually hold allot more than what it says. Also two 5 gallon tanks will be fine. If you want fast bags hook up the nitrogen. This puts you in complete control of what you run. If you want to get some air under your tires you will need to push 350PSI or more. I have put about 550 in my system and everything held just fine. Also run dual valves to the front. If you have any friends that have bags you know how annoying the compressors are so you probably wont use them much if you have nitro. Only time mine come on is when I’m out of nitro and then I just head home because I don’t want to be hearing them run. As for actual fab you will need I’m not sure but post up some pics if you need help and we’ll do our best to get you where you need to be.
You will find everyone here is here to help so just post up with your questions, air or hydro some will probably know the answer your looking for. |

Re: I'm Lovin it!!!!! But Need Help!
Thanks For The Welcome, And Showin Me Some Of That Good Ol' Hospitality! I Was Plannin On Runnin The Slam Xs 600psi, If Im Goin To Do It, I Wanna Do It Right! No Regrets! How Would You Setup A Nitrogen System? Is That Why You Run Dual Valves? What Kind Of Nitrogen Tank Would You Buy? Is There One Specific To Air Ride Systems? Where? Let Me See If I Got This Right, I'd Run Dual Valves From The Bag, One Line For The Nitrogen, And One To The Air Tank? They'll Use The Same Dump Valve Right? Do You Use Seprate Switch Boxes, Or Do You Jus Limit The Operation Of The Air To Jus Raising And Lowering In The Event That The Nitrogen Runs Out? With The Nitrogen, What R You Using To Build Pressure? Jus The Tank Itself? Are You Using A Toggle Switch To Turn The Compressor On And Off, While Your Running Nitrogen? What Other Componets Are Involved With A Nitrogen Setup? Are There Still Check Valves And Pressure Switchs? Sorry If I May Have Been Misleading, There Arent Any Pics Yet. I Havent Even Begun To Tear The Car Down, I Wanna Get All My Parts First To Insure Proper Fit, And Map Out The Trunk Layout.
P.s Lol, I Know I've Asked Alot Of Questions But Like I Said I Wanna Do It Right! Thanks In Adavance Everyone! Drive It Like You Stole It! Lol |

Re: I'm Lovin it!!!!! But Need Help!
I would only get the XS if you are planning on running 600 or more. Would save you a few dollars but if you just want to be safe go for it. The nitro is used to fill your tanks so you would just have to get what size bottle you want and a regulator from a welding supply store and run that to your tanks. With the nitro on you will never get below you pressure switch level so the compressors will never come on. I do however run a toggle in the line so I can shut off the compressors if I want. The dual valves will be ran from the tank to the bags up front. You will set one up normal with the fill and dump and the other will have just a fill valve. You will need 10 valves instead of 8 total for this. Then just jump the second fill valve from the first fill valve. Also be sure you get tanks that will give you enough ports to do this. You will need two ports for the compressors to go into the tanks (if you run two) one port on each tank to be connected for balancing of the air between the two tanks one for your nitro input one for your switch four to go to the front bags and two to go to the rear bags. I may have forgotten something there too. Anyway that’s how my car is set up. Four lines to the front and two to the rear. With the regulator you can adjust what PSI you run at. For me just driving around I do 200-250 and when I hit the streets for some fun I’ll go up to 350-450 PSI. If I go over that its just to see if anything will break.
here’s a pic of my setup. The valves you see are for the rear and the fronts are up under the hood. put the fronts as close to the bags as you can. This will make them faster as well as use your aior better. Doesnt make sence to fill and drain a line all the way from the tank to the bag. this way you only fill and drain what you need. ![]() |

There is also a closer pic of the regulator in the "78 almost done" thread so you can see what we did to get the line on there. That ball valve with the yellow handle is also key. if you dont have that your tanks will completely drain when you disconnect the regulator. just close the valve and then remove. no lost air. that bottle is a 150 cu.ft but my homie slam runs a 300 cu.ft bottle because he can fit it.

Good Lookz, Damn I'm Almost There! I'm Too Excited! Ok So Basically I've Got All My Lines From The Bags And The Nitrogen Going To The Air Tank? I'm Also Bridging The Air Tanks? Ok! Your Using Dual Valves In The Front Just To Make The System Faster Right? What Valves Are You Running? Where Can I Find Them? So The Pressure Switch I Use Wouldnt Matter With Nitrogen? Just Use The 200psi Rated Ones? Or Use An Adjustable? Oh Yea, One More Thing, So It Doesnt Matter Where You Place Your Valves? You Just Want To Try And Keep The As Closely As Possible To The Bags?

Re: I'm Lovin it!!!!! But Need Help!
Yep, all line to the bags come from the tanks and the nitro goes to the tank. Bridging the tanks give you 10 gallons of air to pull from no matter what switch you hit. Also prevents you from having to run two lines off your regulator. The dual valves are just to make it faster. Basically you now have 1’’ line filling your bag. I have ASCO 1/2’’ valves that I got from FMkustoms http://www.fmkustoms.com/store/index.php also got the valve brackets and mounted them to the angled bars in the front. I’ll takes some pics for you later. I haven’t really seen a difference in performance based on valves. Just don’t get anything less than ½’’ and never get a manifold valve setup. Pressure switch wont really matter but get a 200 PSI one just for when you need it. Keep the valves as close as you can to the bag. This will also make it faster and use less air. Not that big of a deal in the rear because its so light and not that far away. I probably have about 2-3 feet of line between my valve and bag in front, so when I hit the switch I only have to fill the small amount of line and the bag and the same when I drop it. I only loose the small amount.
