plumbing 2 scuba tanks for an air ride system

Do you know any reasons to use Nitrogen instead of Oxygen ? I priced a nitrogen setup at $110 for a 40 cf tank and $100 for a regulator. I also priced refills at $16 a tank exchanged. Where at a scuba shop the refills are 5 a tank for Oxygen. Regulators are the same price for either oxygen or nitrogen. Any other pros and cons ?

Nitrogen:
1. Well I know Oxygen will fuel a fire a lot better than Nitrogen would.
2. I think Nitrogen is lighter then Oxygen so it will flow faster.

Oxygen
1. If you ever drive off a cliff into water you already have the scuba tank.

Look at your local laws on transporting Oxygen, because if fuels fire so well they might be some regulations on transportation on a specified amount

over 90% of the earth atmosphere is made of Nitrogen so it NOT that flammable. People commonly mistake Nitrogen with Nitrous Oxide which is flammable because it condenses the Oxygen by freezing it or some shit like that.

If I got rear ended in my car I would rather have Nitrogen next to my fuel cell then Oxygen

40cf? That wont last long!! need at least 150 bottle. as for the price, seems high. I pay less than that to get my 150 filled.

You could put a 8 or12 gal tank on the upper deck.

I think he should put all the air stuff up there, tank, compressors, rear valves and run two 150 bottle on each side of the fuel cell or four 40 bottle two on each side of the fuel cell.

Re: How do I plumb 2 scuba tanks for nitrogen

I decided to go with the Nitrogen for plumbing reasons,I got a used 100 cf alum tank off ebay for 85 and a reg for 75 plus shipping. The tank measures 41 tall and 9 wide. So I can fit it all on my deck, and keep it away from my fuel cell.Fills are only $15 . I will post pics when its all secured and in place. Here is what the reg and tank look like. What do you guys use for clamps? To hold the tank in place.

You can see the nitrogen tank and the bottle clamps

No tank, just the clamps

Here is another look at the clamps. We just when to the welding store and got the bottle clamps.
