New to Air, any help is appriciated!
Hey guys. im going to purchase my air management in the next few weeks or so.
I dont understand everything completly. i want to piece it together myself. I only want to control my fronts, and my rears. (no side to side) so does this mean i need 2 ports or still need 4 from my tank? how many valves are needed? i want to run Viair500 ($290) http://www.suicidedoors.com/Viair500150PSI.php with a 3 gallon 2 port tank (if that will work for what i want) 3 gallon 2 port- http://www.suicidedoors.com/Chrome3Gallon2Port.php i also want to run 1/4" lines to the bags. does that mean i need to run 1/4" valves also? or does that not matter? these vavles if they would work.. SMC 1/2" Valves – probably 4 of them? http://www.suicidedoors.com/SMC38Valve.php# i want electronic valves, and i also want to use a presurre switch * Pressure Switch--- http://www.suicidedoors.com/AirManagementPressureSwitches.php im not sure if this is the correct swich to use.. again any help would be great, thanks also, im not sure how many amp relays i need? and the specs on them.. * 30/40 Amp Relay-- $24 http://www.suicidedoors.com/3040AmpRelaywithSocket5Pack.php and i also plan to purchase this http://www.fbirides.com/shopping_department.asp?cat_idno=256467 anything i am missing or need adjusted, please feel free to say or help or anything.. thanks in advance, bare with the airride noob!!! |

How fast do you want to lift and lower your ride?
If you want a fast lift I recommend running ½ inch everything. Because if you want to slow down a fast setup you put in fill controllers. If you buy a slow setup and you want to make it faster then you will need to replace you valve, line, fittings along with some other thing and that gets expensive. I would run at least a five gallon tank. The Viair500 is a good compressor a lot of people run two of them A pressure switch and a relay is a good idea to have in any air setup. I run an 80amp relay and my pressure switch is not wired up but I run nitrogen most of the time. 600psi Slam bags are very good bag but might be overkill if you are only running a 150psi setup. 1lowcut and my self run are setups at over 250psi. You don’t need side to side but you might want to control each bag to help keep the car level along with front switch and back switch for a total of six switches two for controlling front and back and four to control each bag reason for this is you can level the car if one side fills faster then the other. Some times I hit my front switch and my left front bag will fill faster then the right front and if I want a soft ride I need to tap the front right switch to level the car. You will need

if you only run front and back you will get air transfer from bag to bag in turns. and every car i've seen will not level unless it is filled or dumped. i think it will be worth the extra money to get the front back side to side kit. this way you wont get the air transfer and you can level out your ride and any height.

These guys know thier stuff. I'm pretty much set up like that too. hmmmm minus nitorgen though. (yeah I know I know) the Viair is good and slams for sure. I'm running to tanks and have it set for one tank per side. You will definately want to have comtrol of each bag. It will transfer and it sucks. I've seen it alot around here on some crap trucks with budget rides. They try to save a buck and still be cool, but you might as well do it right and save the headache.
