New to this Bagged Volkswagen

Whats up everyone my name is John... Im new to having air ride and i have a few questions... I installed a Airbagit.com kit in my jetta and i have a few issues.

This is how it sits right now...

And this is how much lower i want it to go.

Anyways i have a few questions..

1) The kit is too fast and id like to slow it down, i was thinking about going to 1/8" line but everyone is telling me not too? I dont want the car to pop up or drop down fast i want it to go pretty slow basically so you cant tell its moving in the cabin.

2) Ive had some recent leaks in the fittings and im using teflon tape to seal it. Is that the best stuff to use? is there any other product to basically make it the (FITTINGS) leak proof. I know there are other places that the system could be leaking but im pretty sure its coming from the fittings because when i spray water over the fittings it fizzes.

3) Automatic ride hights? are there any cheaper ways than buying airbagit's $1200 dollar system to have an automatic sytem with saved ride hieght settings? I basically want to push a button and it automatically go to that desired ride hight? Is that possible? Or somehow get a regulator for pressure in the bags??? i dont know if that even exists?

4) I heard that the valves always leak? is that true? The system looks pretty nice and im wondering if valves always leak? Ill raise the car all the way and go away, come back in about 20-30 minutes and the cars on the ground again? is there anyway to get the complete system leakproof?

Whoa i asked hella questions already ill just leave it at that for right now i know i have more but if any of you have advice that would help so much.

This might help a little. You can look for a slow down valve. They have like an adjustment screw in the end that you adjust to how fast you want it to move. Teflon doesn't work for shit. Try teflon paste, I used to use it on pnematics on heating and A/C for commercail buildings on the fittings, it can be a little messy but it works. Use locktite or something like that. The teflon tape actually acts as a lubricant and can turn the fittings from vibration. You also don't want tape getting in your valves it can mess them up bad. Teflon tape can also cause you to over tighten the fittings. I would also recommend not usung the cheaper fittings that have the pressed nylon inside plastic inserts in them. they can leak. On the lines I'm just running 1/2 inch DOT line but you can do hard lines if you want to out of copper or stainless. You can alos look for a air exchanger valve. It allows the air to flow only one direction. so if you have a leak at the tank it won't flow back and leak out, it will keep your ride up even if the leak is in the back or somewhere else, it can help you isolate your problems. I'm new to bagging too but I read this stuff in a Sport truck magazine in thier basics for bagging a ride. I followed the advice on my car and it seems to prove correct. So hopefully maybe some of this will help you out a little.

the exchanger goes in before your valve. The air flows into the valves and to the bag but not the other way. When you dump the air it goes through the other valve and out not back to the tank. the slow down goes in the end of the valve and you adjust it to how fast it dumps out. I noticed that the new issue of sport trucks is out, but I have the article about the bag basics and can email it over to you if you might want that. I learned alot of it in just a few pages...good luck

Yea bro if you could email that to me that would help so much. My email is johngraphix@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.

One more thing. Right now i have a set of valves for each corner... if my goal was to just basically controll the front and rear... would it be necisarry to even have seperate valves for each corner or could i theoretically just run one set of valves for front and rear and just "T" them off to each corner that way when i hit a switch just the complete front raises or drops and vise versa?

this is basically how slow i want it and what i want it to be able to do.

I would still run four seperate valves, if you run just two sets, your not able to adjust the pressure for each side. If you have just two they share the air and it will transfer back and forth like a see-saw. One side of the car might sit higher that the other and you can't adjust pressure in one side or the other. Then your car will have a hard time leveling. Everyone recommends valves for each bag, you then can add or remove air as needed. I tried that set up and I hated it, may car would then lean on a turn and it would take awhile to recver from the shift and I had no way to adjust. I jsut broke down and payed the price to have it right with all eight valves.

You can still control it to do a front up and down and same with the rear if you wire it that way to your switches. I have 10 switches on my car. I figured that if my car will do a side to side might as well have the switches to do it. It's pretty cool to drop side on someone, when they only can run an up and down. That is just my theroy. Did you find the slow downs?

I was looking at your set up. I didn't see any pressure gauges? Do you have them? If not dual needle guages are what I have, that way I know exactly what I have in each bag.

Yes i have guages its a digital readout for each corner and the rear tank. I was wondering if i could wire the switches i have for front up front down rear up and rear down but i have a playstation controller for a switch box. I was trying to figure out how i could re wire two sets of switches for just basically ups and downs for front and rear?
