| Some magazine questions! There is a great new article in Sport Truck magazine titled BAG IT. it's a pretty good article about the basics of bags. It brought up some things that are listed as must haves and I wanted to know what everyone thinks. It said to use lock tight on the fittings. I guess I'm hesitant to use that because I want it be easy to remove stuff if I need to. I've used teflon paste and tape but they say tape is bad. They also recommend exchangers so the air flows all one direction to the bag and it won't back flow if there is a leak back by the tank or valves. They also recommended schrader valves for emergencies. They also mentioned hard lines over soft lines and that copper can work. I'm running the DOT plastic lines right now. Any thoughts on some of this stuff. It's a pretty cool mag, maybe worth looking into and a subscription is pretty cheap. Also Lowrider March 06 issue has the basics for bagging a Bomb on a Budget article that is pretty good. Let me know what you think and if you have seen these articles Last edited by mr64magic : 01-17-2006 at 03:20 PM. |

| there is different types of loc-tight you can use ,generally used for fittings is the loc-tight hydraulic/ pnuematic sealant #545 and you can still take it apart unlike the high-strength loctight for bolts, teflon tape is ok to use you just have to put it on correctly, it has to be put on tight and the right direction,if it comes off while puting it on you put it on wrong. some companies want loctight on fittings ,because tape sometimes gets into the system and screws up valves and precision parts. whats an exchanger, I think you mean check valves they are the only valve that allows flow to go in one direction. Tubing is good if you can do a nice job at it, copper or stain- less steel are OK for air systems just use the right futtings. schrader is a good brand but there are so many different brands out there such as parker ,ARO ,Clippard Rexroth,Peter Paul,Snap-tite, didnt see the lowrider article. hope this helps |
