| Air Ride Kit for Plymouth Grand Voyager? Hello! I have a 1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager and want to put an air suspension system in it. I mainly want something so that I can lower the body when I park or lower the front/back end separately. I think this would be hilarious, as it is a minivan! Since the van is old, I am just looking for something cheap, around $600. However, the only air suspension kit that I have found for my particular van is $1,900. Is there somewhere I can get a kit for less? Is there another cheaper alternative than using airbags? Any help would be appreciated. Tyler |

| Administrator | Does it have to be air? Maybe go with a simple hydraulic setup. If all you are wanting to do is drop the van when you park. Or for a little bit more you could go with a 2 pump setup..SHOWTIME HYDRAULICS offers this kit for 999.00 ShowTime Chrome Two ShowTime Chrome pumps (pictured here) or four ShowTime Chrome pumps, fittings, standard check valves, competition dumps, #6 high-pressure hoses, 8" street cylinders, slow downs, cups, donuts, street switches, solenoids, switchplate and switch cord. or from COOLCARS you could get this kit for 899.95 STREET EDITION You have many choices on what to do..... |

| So the kits are pretty much universal? I was under the impression that I would have to buy a kit specifically for a Plymouth Grand Voyager with specific mounts. Would hydraulics raise and lower the van fairly quickly? Besides parking, I also wanted to be able to lower the front/back separately. This way I could do so when at a stop light to make it look like I was accelerating fast or braking hard enough to tilt the whole van. Thanks |

| Administrator | I would just go with a 2 pump setup. Of course you will have to do some modifications.. But that is with any suspension upgrade. It just depends on the MINIVAN suspension..I would think it has a strut assembly up front and just regular springs in back? |

| I was looking at different hydraulic kits and realized that I would also need to buy batteries. I saw a two pump kit for sale on Ebay that used 8 of them. How many batteries would I need to buy? How long do they typically last? If I bought 8 batteries at around $100 a piece, I would end up spending almost more than the kit itself. In that case, it seems like airbags would be cheaper. |

| Administrator | If your just looking to raise and lower the vehicle and not PLAY with it all the time, speed will not be an issue for you, You could get 4 batteries and that would be fine. REMEMBER it will be slow. Also, dont buy new batteries, find a shop that sells used or BLEMS ( which is what I always had ). You can get them for 25-40 a battery.. As long as how long they will last, that goes back to how much you PLAY with the system..Besure you get a MARINE battery, such as GROUP 31 series or even a GROUP 27 will work....GOOD LUCK |
