Question Shock talk

I have just recently installed a front air bag set up on my 1964 Belair. It works great. However I seem to have run into a difference of opinion. It is if I should have put shocks on the front of my car. I'm currently running it shock free and it seems to be just fine with out. My friend has his truck done and it doesn't have a shock on it and it rides just fine and his truck has been that way for three years. He tells me shocks will just act as restrictors when you drop it and raise it and you won't get your max results on lift or lay frame. I'm getting ready to have the rear of my car done and will set it up as a F/B/S/S set up so I can regulate the body lean and each bag independently. So what do you think about shocks? If I should have shocks what kind should I use? I have some pretty huge bags under it and want a max lift and drop.

That is kind of what I've been thinking. Air ride technolgies says other wise and that I have to have them.

most people dont run them in the front, in my experience the small benefits just dont outweigh the extra trouble and ugliness
